Relationship to the Renewable Energy Installer Academy (REIA)

The Renewable Energy Installer Academy (REIA) was developed in 2004 as a joint INTERREG project between Action Renewables in Northern Ireland and Sustainable Energy Ireland in the Republic of Ireland.  The REIA was aimed at maintaining training standards for renewable technology installations throughout Ireland.

Installation companies applying for certification under the MCS must have at least one individual who has completed and passed the appropriate REIA course, therefore the REIA training qualifications will still be maintained through Action Renewables’ MCS certification.  The REIA courses continue to be delivered by the Further Education Colleges in Northern Ireland.  The courses are now administered directly by the colleges.  For further information on courses available please refer to the REIA section of the website.
