Registered Installers

Action Renewables was the lead partner in the development of the Renewable Energy Installer Academy (REIA).  The REIA was the training and registration body for installers of renewable energy technologies including Solar Water, heat pumps, biomass, wind, PV and Hydro.  The scheme was a European funded project for 2 years and has recently completed.  Training courses are however still running and can be booked directly with the colleges.  For more information on courses go to the REIA website
Registered installers through REIA have:
  • Attended a registered training course and passed an examination on the technology
  • Signed up to and adhere to a Code of Practice
  • Were quality inspected on a random basis.

Please Note: If you are applying for a household grant under the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) you must currently use an MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) registered installer.  This certification is offered by a number of UK based organisations.  Action Renewables now offers MCS certification services to installers, click here for more information.
